Rebuilding Source Doesn't Update Add-ins Folder

Aug 5, 2009 at 2:25 PM

Hi All,

I'm not really sure this is a bug, but for those who use roaming profiles and the Add-ins folder in "My Documents".

You will need to change the "Thinktecture.Tools.Web.Services.ContractFirst" post-build script from...

SET addinsDir=%userprofile%\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Addins

to...

SET addinsDir=%HOMESHARE%\Visual Studio 2008\Addins

Obviously assuming %HOMESHARE% is defined.

Hi ifdef,

Thanks. We'll put a  note in the documentation that will accompany the final release (whenever that is :-) ).

cheers

Hi benjy,

No worries.

You could also install the assemblies onto a local drive (i.e. "C:\Program Files\WSCF.Blue") then change the ".Addin" file to point to it using the "Assembly" element. That way, it's guaranteed to work in pretty much any scenario.

Given that the installer prompts for a local folder but never installs into it, seems like the perfect use for it :-)
